San Joaquin Memorial’s Lucca Marshall broke a school record when he competed in the boys 400-meter run on Saturday at the 2024 West Coast Relays. The sophomore finished the race with a time of 50.39 to break the record that stood for ten years. It was Liam Campbell who held the record for the past ten years, according to the team.
Marshall is already proving himself as a standout runner in only his sophomore year. The Panthers’ young star has already reached his personal best mark in several competitions this season. At the Pioneer Invitational on March 8, Marshall set his best mark in the 100-meter race, finishing with a time of 11.68, according to athletic.net. He topped that mark a few days later when he competed in a CMAC meet and finished the 100-meter race in a time of 11.64.
Marshall achieved his personal best in the 200-meter race (22.95) on April 10 at another CMAC showdown. Safe to say the future is fast and bright for the Panthers’ rising star student-athlete.
