Freshman guard Pamir Olivier stuffed the stat sheet in Hoover’s 76-49 win over Sanger West on Wednesday. Olivier was a menace on defense, finishing with eight steals. He also added 16 points and four assists to his stellar night.
The Patriots had big contributions from several players in the win. Junior guard Cesar Juarez posted 13 points, 5 steals and four assists. Senior guard Jeremiah Rodriguez added 16 points and 3 rebounds as the Patriots opened league with a victory.
Various players have been stepping up for Hoover throughout the season. When the Patriots edged Whitney High School 54-52 in the Clovis West Nike Invitational Tournament on Dec. 6, sophomore Michael Harris posted a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Harris had another strong performance in the season opener against Kingsburg, posting 21 points and rebounds as the Patriots earned a a 71-56 win over the D3 Section Champs. Jeremiah Rodriguez added 21 points and three steals in the early season win against Kingsburg.
