Clovis Community College’s cross country head coach CJ Albertson is getting national recognition after his historic performance in the Boston Marathon. Albertson became the top American finisher in the prestigious race, completing his run with a time of 2:09:53. The Crush coach finished 3 minutes and 53 seconds behind the winner, Ethiopia’s Sisay Lemma.
Albertson latest achievement is another addition to his decorated resume. In 2019, the 30-year-old set the world record for the indoor marathon, finishing with a time of 2:17:59 at The Armory in New York. He also set the world record two years ago in the 50K (2:38:43) when he ran in San Francisco, according to The Boston Globe.
Albertson has completed four marathons in the past five months. In February, he finished fifth at the US Olympic Trials.
