Nick Pharo’s game winning RBI single lifted the Clovis North Broncos to a pivotal 1-0 win against Clovis West. After the teams battled for seven innings, Pharo drove in Jayden HertelĀ for the walk-off run in the eight inning.
It was a crucial win for the Broncos as the regular season winds down. With the dramatic victory, the Broncos improved to 6-7 and jumped to third place in the TRAC, holding an identical record with Central.
Clovis North may need some more clutch performances as the stakes grow even bigger in the next few days. The Broncos will wrap up the regular season with two more games against Clovis West, which is looking to clinch a top spot in the TRAC.
Clovis North will travel to Clovis West on Wednesday before returning home on Friday for the finale.
Jayden Hertel earned the win in Tuesday’s narrow victory. In addition to scoring the game-winner, Hertel pitched three innings and recorded two strikeouts. Davis Wilson pitched five innings for the Broncos, allowing four hits and recording four strikeouts. Nate Lopez went 2-for-3 in the win.
