Clovis North’s softball team has wrapped up another dominating regular season. The Broncos finished as TRAC champs for the third straight year after taking down Clovis High 13-0 on Friday.
The Broncos, not only celebrated the win and the league championship, but also some special moments from the evening, including the first home run of the season for sophomore Brynn Gentry.
Gentry finished with two runs scored, two hits and three RBIs. Ryan Maddox added three more hits and two RBIs for the Broncos. Maddox also pitched six innings, allowing only three hits and striking out 11 batters.
“Our team came together to get this big win, we knew the TRAC title is on the line,” Maddox said. “We stayed confident, made plays for each other, that’s how we came out on top.”
After winning three-straight league titles with the Broncos, Maddox said it’s always hard to keep the streak going.
“It gets harder every time,” the senior said. “We know everybody wants to come after us, but we also want to come after them. Lots of hard work, good chemistry, we come together as a team.”
Stay tuned for a special feature on Maddox coming soon to FSM.
